Disappointing

Next to Wrath, Phury is my favorite brother but this book is my least favorite of the series. Ward did not do Phury's character justice. Instead of uplifting him, she made him sink way low. Also, the behavoir of his brothers was very disappointing. Why did no one try to help Phury? Not even his own brother Z tried to help. They all basically washed their hands of him. That made me like all the brothers less. Also the romance was lack lustre. In fact, there was no real romance. Cormia spent most of her time with John Matthew and she and Phury did not have any magic moments. I don't buy the love between those two at all. I still love the series, but this book was very disappointing.

Not my fav but still a great read

Phury"s twin Zadist was taken from their home when he was a few months old . It had a devastating effect on his parents , as I'm sure it would any parent. Phury was left to take care of his parents who could barely look at him as he reminded him of what they lost. Once old enough he went in search of his twin. Only to find he was being held and used as a blood / sex slave. In a rescue attempt Phury lost his leg, but it was worth it to have his brother back. Only to realize the brother he brought back was not whole , he was broken something was missing in him. Zadist needed Phury to beat him on a regular basis to relieve him of his anguish. This only added to Phurys torment of how much his brother was hurting. Phury decided in luie of his brothers pain he was going to take a vow of celibacy. He made point to stay away from females never knowing or wanting the feel of a female.

Then Bella Walked into their lives the moment he met her he longed for thing he never thought he wanted. But only to find that she only had eyes for his twin. Bella saved his twin she brought back the humanity in him, that alone should have made Phury happy for them . But he still longed for Bella . He couldnt help him self she was every thing he ever wanted and needed . Now with her pregnut with his twins child he just cant bare to be arround any longer and is looseing him self to his addition. But he cant bare to leave , so he desided he will take Vishous's spot as Primemale and help his race to repopulate. Can he get over his self lothing and open him self up?

Cormia just wants to be an individual she wants thing she is not allowed to have as a Chosen one. She dose not want to be the first mate of the Primemale she is scared but once she meets him and see the pain he is harboring in side she want him to open up to her and see her. But he has to let the past and Bella go first . She is not sure she can break though those barriers and help him. But she is willing to try if he would just let her.

This was not my favorite book in the series. Allot of important events happen in this book so it is still a good read. But i had a hard time with Phury and his self pitty party he was having i felt like get over it already. lol but all in all i still liked the book and you learn a lot more about Phury and why he is the way he is . It is a different perspective to see what Phury when though with the loss of his twin. Then the return of what was left of the twin he lost. Then to find the only salvation for that twin is in the one thing you want and cant have.

This is just as wonderful as the other books...each one of the books has a powerful man with a handicap. Each one shows how they over come it. Keep in mind that Phury is a virgin and is a drug addict...because of this the sex is not as prevalent but it still made me bawl my eyes out...I can't wait for the next book.

A must read. I love all the black dagger brotherhood books. I wish the story would continue forever.

BORING Diary

I love the BDB series, but not this book. Phury's story is nothing more than a diary and a really monologue with himself. I don't feel it was a complete waste of money as there short mentions of the other characters in the story, and because it came with the paperback set so cost $4 instead of the regular $8 price. Luckily I did not read this book first. Otherwise I would have thought J.R Ward was a terrible writer and missed out on a terrific series.
